Complete Traceability

Exporters and procurement teams need to meet clear compliance requirements while keeping shipment records ready for review. Supporting documentation must be easy to retrieve, verify, and share during audits, customs checks, and internal compliance reviews.

For treated pallets, crates, and dunnage, Yat Guan provides digital or hard-copy certificates with traceable treatment details, helping customers verify compliance and respond more efficiently when records are requested.

Each treated batch includes:

  • A treatment certificate with ISPM 15 details, including facility code, date, and treatment method
  • Photo records and temperature logs where required
  • The option to support compliance tracking within your shipment management system

This gives each treated batch a clear trail, from treatment and marking through the preparation of supporting certificates. For export teams, it means treatment records are easier to verify, retrieve, and align with shipment documentation when required.

Bulk Processing

Yat Guan’s facilities are optimized for large-scale and high-throughput operations, designed to meet the needs of manufacturers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers. Our computer-controlled heat chambers and sealed fumigation units accommodate bulk shipments and pallet batches, ensuring consistent results across large volumes—all within short turnaround times.

Maintaining our own heat treatment facilities allows us to remain nimble and optimise for cycle uptime and usage, creating cost-efficient solutions while customising batches for customers upon request.

Key benefits:

  • High-capacity chambers made for industrial-scale treatment.
  • Our Efficient batch processing reduces logistics bottlenecks.
  • We provide clear, cost-optimised solutions for recurring export volumes.

Heat Treatment vs. Fumigation

Heat treatment and fumigation are both recognised methods for preparing wooden packaging for export under ISPM 15. Each process works differently and may be more suitable depending on the destination market, shipment requirements, and type of packaging involved.

Understanding these differences will help you choose the right treatment method for your export needs:

Checking & SortingTreatment SetupTreatment MethodControl & ReleaseMarking & Handling

Heat Treatment: Solid wood packaging is inspected and sorted before treatment. Plywood, LVL, and other engineered wood products are generally exempt from ISPM 15 treatment.

Fumigation: Solid wood packaging is also inspected and sorted, then placed in a sealed fumigation area or chamber before gas treatment.

Heat Treatment: The wood packaging is loaded into a heat chamber, where temperature and airflow are controlled for consistent heating across the load.

Fumigation: The wood packaging is placed in a sealed chamber or covered treatment area to contain the fumigant and prevent gas leakage.

Heat Treatment: Solid wood packaging is inspected and sorted before treatment. Plywood, LVL, and other engineered wood products are generally exempt from ISPM 15 treatment.

Fumigation: Methyl bromide gas is introduced at the required concentration, based on load size, wood type, and temperature.

Heat Treatment:Temperature data is monitored and recorded to confirm that the required core temperature has been reached and maintained.

Fumigation: The wood remains exposed for the required period, usually several hours, before ventilation and aeration release residual gas for safe handling.

Heat Treatment:Once verified, the wood is stamped with the ISPM 15 mark, including the IPPC symbol, country code, facility code, and HT treatment code.

Fumigation: After treatment and aeration, the wood is stamped with the ISPM 15 mark, including the IPPC symbol, country code, facility code, and MB treatment code.
