Quality Assurance
Environmental Policy
Yat Guan is committed to managing the environmental impact of our operations in Singapore and Malaysia through responsible resource use, clear working procedures and continual improvement.
Our environmental responsibilities form part of the wider Environmental, Health, Safety and Security framework that guides our employees and operations. Employees are expected to understand the environmental requirements relevant to their work, comply with applicable legislation and codes of practice, and follow Yat Guan’s established Green Practices procedures.
Because timber is central to our business, we also focus on extending material life and supporting responsible sourcing. Pallet repair and reconditioning, recycled pallet supply, material recovery and PEFC-certified timber options help keep usable materials in circulation longer and reduce unnecessary consumption of new resources.
Compliance and Green Practices
Yat Guan requires employees to comply with the environmental laws, statutory requirements and codes of practice relevant to their work.
Employees receive appropriate information and training to help them understand these requirements and apply the company’s Green Practices procedures during their day-to-day activities. Environmental compliance is treated as a shared operational responsibility across the organisation.

Waste Reduction
Yat Guan aims to reduce waste generation through better control of materials, processes and working practices.
Employees are expected to follow established procedures and use resources responsibly throughout their work. Where opportunities for improvement are identified, operating practices may be reviewed to reduce avoidable waste and strengthen overall environmental performance.
Technology and Operational Practices
We promote the use of technologies and operational practices that can minimise environmental impact.
Environmental considerations may be included when working methods and production processes are reviewed. This provides a practical basis for improving resource efficiency, reducing waste and strengthening environmental controls across our operations.
Environmental Objectives and Review
Environmental objectives, targets and supporting programmes are established where appropriate.
These are reviewed at defined intervals to assess progress and identify areas that require further action. This structured approach helps Yat Guan maintain relevant controls and continually improve its environmental performance.
Training and Environmental Awareness
Yat Guan promotes environmental awareness among employees and provides training on relevant legislation, codes of practice and internal procedures.
Each employee is expected to understand how their work may affect environmental performance and to carry out their responsibilities accordingly. Clear communication helps ensure that environmental requirements remain part of routine operational decision-making.
Participation and Continual Improvement
Employees at different levels and functions are encouraged to participate in the development, evaluation and improvement of Yat Guan’s EHSS management system.
Consultation and participation help the company identify practical improvements, communicate responsibilities and strengthen environmental performance over time.
